Feedback From a Listener:
“The show today was superb, the best ever. Use this show as a model. It was meaningful and the guest added theoretical and practical knowledge along with the research. As a former professor, I rated this show an A. Keep up the good work. I loved it and parents and teachers must have gained greater insights on how to educate their children living with letters. Having more experts on the show of Jackie’s caliber is a plus. Our community thirst for such knowledge, keep the fountain flowing.” A.G.

The Living with Letters Podcast
In keeping with the Living with Letters’ understanding that opportunities for learning exist all around us in nature and in our surroundings, it is up to us as parents and caregivers of prekindergarten children to recognize these teachable moments (Aha moments) and respond to them to nurture our child’s ever growing curiosity about the world around them.
Every episode will begin with an experience in nature or in our surroundings – our Aha moment – when our young child’s question or observation presents us with an opportunity for learning.
This discovery becomes a springboard to embrace the topic by engaging our young learners in 5 suggested activities that will reinforce what we learned and help to remember what we learned. And throughout each activity, we encourage speaking, listening, reading, and writing to support literacy skills in our everyday lives.
Growing Sunflowers Episode 1
Young scientists learn about growing sunflowers by experiencing nature using their five senses, creating a hands-on-project, and reading books about flowers.
Busy Buzzing Bees Episode 2
Curious children observe bees on a daisy plant and learn why bees are important and why alphabetic awareness is foundational in learning to decode words and read.
